OUR VISION
A Wonderful Change
OBCRights.Org is an Initiative of SFRBC (Society for the Rights of Backward Communities) – we are non-political organization relentlessly work to ensure the following Constitutional – legitimate rights of OBC.
What We Achieved / Accomplished!
- Unjustifiable – Unfair reservation struck down:
The Illegal – Unfair – Unjustifiable 10.5% Special Reservation to a Single Community has been struck down. – Accomplished.
- Single Community Domination – Thrown off:
Tamil Nadu Backward Class Commission is retrieved from 32 Years of domination of a Single Community. – Accomplished.
- NCBC – Chairman Post Filled:
The post of Chairman of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) which was vacant for more than 18 months was filled (Chairman Posted on 02.12.2022). – Accomplished.
- Org – An Unique – Comprehensive Information Provider:
Through our well-structured – Robustic Website “obcrights.org”, we are guiding the youths on every front. (i.e Admission, Scholarships, Jobs, getting various certificates etc.,). – Accomplished.
- Training for TNPSC & UPSC Aspirants:
We have conducted motivational classes and coaching camps for TNPSC and UPSC Aspirants in 12 districts. We have also uploaded materials for TNPSC Group II & IIA and other examination in a separate domain, built / structured by OBC Rights (SFRBC). – Accomplished.
Yet to Accomplish – On going Missions:
- Around 2Lakhs Vacancies due for OBCs:
In 1992 through 27% reservation was confirmed to OBCs by the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court of India, till now (after 41 years) less than 18% of the OBC – quota alone had been filled up and 9% vacancies still remains to be filled. It amounts to around 2 Lakhs vacancies. So, we will fight to fill the aforesaid vacancies – It will help 2 Lakhs families i.e., minimum of 10Lakhs OBCs may be benefited.
- Proportionate appointment of OBC Candidates in Central Government Funded Institutions and Higher Judiciary:
More than 20% of the vacancies which are due for OBCs in Central Government funded educational institutions like IIT, IIM, NIT etc., have to be filled. The indirect/covert strategy restricting the appointment of OBCs as Hon’ble Judges in High-Courts and Supreme Courts must be eliminated at once. There should be proportionate representation to OBCs in the senior level postings in Central Government Secretariat and Higher Judiciary. We will relentlessly insist and fight for it.
- Poor or Economically Weaker Sections in OBC – Communities must be included in EWS – 10% quota:
Poor and neglected youth amongst OBC Communities must be included in 10% EWS (Economically Weaker Sections)
- Eliminate unjustified Creamy Layer restriction on OBC quota:
“Creamy Layer” – restrictions is imposed on the OBCs reservation alone. Because of this, lots of OBC Communities are deprived of the Reservation benefits. It is unfair and injustice. It must be removed.
- Raise Income Ceiling to OBC for Scholarship form Rs.2.5Lakhs to Rs.8Lakhs:
Annual Income Limit of Rs.2.5Lakhs fixed for Backward Communities to get Scholarship must be raised to Rs.8 Lakhs considering the income ceiling fixed in EWS Quota – (i.e. People below the Annual Income of Rs.8Lakhs are Economically Weaker).
- Need for Genuine Caste Census:
- As per Constitution of India and the basic need, it is the duty of the State & Central Government to identify the Socially, Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and initiate affirmative action through Reservation. To identify that, a genuine census / survey of the population of communities, number of people who got higher education – Government / PSU Jobs and etc., are essential. Now these datas are taken only for SCs, STs and Minorities and not for OBCs. This is a clear discrimination. So, the State as well as the Central Government must immediately Order for “Caste Census”.
- As no Caste Census datas are available since 1931, without a Door – to – Door genuine Caste Census, no reservation or Sub-Quota should be given.
- Reservation awareness for Students and Youth:
The Policy or Concept of “Reservation” has been given with a noble vision of ensuring “Equality among Citizens”. But seeking / asking for “Reservations” is criticized and maligned by a section of people particularly Upper / Elite Class. Politicians and Ruling dispensations use the “Reservation Policy” to catch votes. They please the strong and affluent communities only. So, in order to educate every youth and to give a clear idea on the aforesaid noble concept, this subject of reservation must be brought in the curriculum, with relevant provisions of the Constitution of India and various Constitutional Bench Judgments of the Supreme Court.
- Reservation awareness for Students and Youth:
- Governance on implementation of Reservation:
To monitor the implementation of Reservation to OBCs and various concessions/rights, District and State Level monitoring Committees must be formed with non-political – educated, community dedicated personalities.
- Uplift and awareness to all OBCs:
Now we are extending our tentacles covering the gross injustice perpetrated against Agriculturist, Small Business Men and Entrepreneurs.
Chanting of “OBC” has been spread not only in Tamil Nadu but also in entire India from Prime Minister to an ordinary Citizen happened only because of our systematic, strategical and consistent effort.
