How to Apply for a Residence Certificate in Tamil Nadu

Indian citizens can apply for a residence certificate, a crucial document confirming their long-term residency in a nation, state, city, town, or village, through the e-Sevai Tamil Nadu portal. The Tahsildar or Deputy Tahsildar in their Taluk issues this certificate.

STEP 1: Click on the “Options button” next to the entry you want to choose.

STEP 2: Click “Proceed”.

Filling out the Form of Residence Certificate in Tamil Nadu

Section 1: Application Form

STEP 1: Enter the “Ration card” number.
(Other details cannot be changed)

Section 2: Current Address

The Current Address cannot be changed.

Section 3: Permanent Address

The applicant cannot change the permanent address.

Section 4: Contact Details

The applicant cannot change the Contact details.

Section 5: Address Details of the applicant in descending chronological order

STEP 1: Input the information under “Address Details” as specified in the form
(Ordered chronologically by address)

STEP 2: Click “Submit”.

(Proceed to the document uploading page.)

STEP 3: Attach the “Documents” required.

STEP 4: Click “Make payment”.

(You’ll be directed to the Payment page.)

STEP 5: Click “Confirm Payment”.

(You will be directed to the acknowledgment page.

STEP 6: Click “Print Receipt”.
