Getting Statutory / Legal Recognition:

Achievements

SFRBC is one among the few NGOs which designed its logo meticulously, and got the name and logo registered under IPR Act. It’s logo symbolizes the joining of nine forehands together with a tag line “Unite for Rights” – which conveys our vision. It is registered under Societies Act with charitable objects. As soon as it was formed we started our legal fights to protect the rights of OBC Communities. Our fight paved the way for striking down the illegal special / sub quota 10.5% for a single community. We retrieved the Tamil Nadu Backward Class Commission from the domination of single community. We were instrumental in filling the vacancy of Chairman, National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC). We vehemently fought for striking down 10% reservations for Economically Weaker Sections – which was a blow to OBCs. The Judgement and Review petitions too failed in the Supreme Court. We conducted more than 12 camps in 12 districts to motivate youth towards education and government jobs.
