The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a test for getting into engineering colleges all over the country. It consists of two parts: JEE Main and JEE Advanced, both conducted online. The test is getting harder, and more than 12 lakh students take it every year. There are only 11,000 seats in 23 IITs, so there is tough competition to get in.
Eligibility Criteria for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE):
Education Qualification:
– Eligibility requires passing the 12th class or equivalent exam in 2022 or 2023.
– Candidates currently in the 12th class or scheduled for equivalent exams in 2024 are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit:
There is no age limit for JEE Main. Any student who completed the 12th class or its equivalent in 2022 or 2023, or is currently in the process of doing so and will finish in 2024 is qualified to apply for the IIT entrance exam.
JEE Main Number of Attempts:
– JEE Main allows candidates to attempt the exam for a maximum of three consecutive years.
– The entrance test is scheduled to take place in two sessions, in January and April.
– Students who completed their class 10+2 in either 2022 or 2023 are eligible to participate in the JEE Main 2024 examination.
JEE Main 2024 Eligibility Criteria: Admissions to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs:
NITs/IIITs/GFTIs Admission
– Eligibility requires passing the 12th class with at least 75 percent marks in JEE Mains 2024.
– Alternatively, students can qualify if they are in the top 20 percentile in their class 12 exam, with a relaxation of 65% for SC/ST candidates.
JEE Main 2024 Admission (B.Arch/B.Planning):
– To be eligible for admission in B.Arch/B. Planning, candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board.
– The required qualification marks for JEE Mains include a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
JEE Main 2024 Qualifying Exams :
– The 10+2 system’s final exam should be from recognized boards like CBSE or ISCE.
– For the National Defence Academy (NDA), a two-year course final exam is required.
– The National Institute of Open Schooling’s Senior Secondary School Examination needs a minimum of five subjects.
– Public or foreign exams must have been recognized by AIU as equivalent to the 10+2 system.
– HSC Vocational Exam, a three-year AICTE-recognized Diploma, and GCE Advanced level are acceptable.
– Cambridge University’s High School Certificate or International Baccalaureate Diploma are recognized.
– Candidates from non-specified boards abroad need an AIU certificate.
– If class 12 is not public, a prior public exam is required.
Documents needed for Joint Entrance Examination :
To complete the JEE Main application, candidates need the following documents and details:
1. Academic certificates for Classes 10 and 12.
2. If applicable, Community category certificates indicating the candidate’s category.
3. Payment details, including Credit/Debit Card or Internet banking information for the JEE Mains form fees.
4. Scanned images of a passport-sized color photo and signature following the specified guidelines.

To complete the JEE Main 2024 application, follow these steps:
1. Go to the official JEE Main website at jeemain.nta.ac.in.
2. Choose your preferred mode of registration.
3. Provide the necessary details and create a password for exam registration.
4. Upon registration, you’ll receive a JEE Main Registration number and password on your mobile and email. Use these credentials to log in.
5. Fill in essential details in the JEE Main application form.
6. Upload the required documents.
7. Pay the JEE Mains exam fee.
8. Book your exam slots.
9. Print the acknowledgment page to complete the application submission process.
