AIIMS, NEW DELHI
An Act of Parliament created AIIMS in 1956, establishing it as an autonomous institution to serve as a nucleus for nurturing excellence in all aspects of health care.
An Act of Parliament established the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences as an institution of national importance. The objective of the institute is to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches, demonstrating a high standard of Medical Education in India. To bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all important branches of health activity; and to attain self-sufficiency in Post-graduate Medical Education.
The Act mandates the Institute to conduct teaching programs in medical and para-medical courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to grant its degrees, while also requiring comprehensive facilities for teaching, research, and patient care. The Institute conducts teaching and research in 42 disciplines. AIIMS also runs a College of Nursing and trains students for B.Sc.(Hons.) Nursing post-certificate degrees.
AIIMS also manages a 60-bed hospital in the Comprehensive Rural Health Centre at Ballabgarh in Haryana and provides health cover to about 2.5 lakh population through the Centre for Community Medicine.
Objectives of AIIMS :

- Bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order or the training of the personnel in all important branches of the health activity.

AIIMS Delhi MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2024
- Nationality: Indian/ PIO/ OCI/ NRIs and foreign national candidates will be eligible to apply.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 17 Years of Age as of December 31, 2024.
- Subjects: Must have Chemistry, Physics, Biology/ Biotechnology, and English at 10+2.
- Marks Percentage: Must have at least 50% Marks in Aggregate

AIIMS Delhi UG Admission 2024 :
Apart from MBBS, Delhi offers admission to various other UG Courses such as B.Sc (Hons) Nursing, B.Sc Post Basic Nursing, and B.Sc Paramedical. Admission to all the UG Courses at AIIMS Delhi is solely entrance-based. Candidates can apply for admission to their desired program through the official website of AIIMS. The basic eligibility for getting admission to UG Courses at AIIMS Delhi is 10+2 in PCB and the final selection will be done based on an entrance exam.

AIIMS Delhi UG Eligibility Criteria 2024 :
- Candidates must pass 10+2 from a recognized board with English, Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Mathematics as subjects, achieving a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.
- A relaxation of 5% is provided for SC/ ST Categories.
- To appear for the entrance examination, candidates should hold Indian Citizenship and should attain the age of 17 Years as of December 31 of the year of admission.
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- NRIs (Non-Residents of India), and OCIs (Overseas Citizens of India) can be enrolled.
Delhi UG Selection Criteria 2024
For admission to UG courses at AIIMS Delhi, candidates must have appeared for the respective entrance exam and must have a valid score followed by counseling conducted by the institute. Candidates will be granted admission based on their performance in the written entrance examination.

AIIMS Delhi actively offers admission to various PG courses, including MD, MS, MDS, M.Sc, M.Sc Nursing, DM, M.Ch, and others, across various specializations in the fields of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Biotechnology, and Paramedical.
