The Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar, is a centrally funded institution of higher education located in Assam. Established in 2006 under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the institute was created as part of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Accord of 2003. Today, CIT Kokrajhar has grown into a Deemed-to-be University, offering technical, design, and vocational programs aimed at serving the educational needs of the North-East region and beyond.

Admission Process
1. Diploma (After Class 10/12)
Admission through the Central Institute of Technology Entrance Examination (CITEE).
2. B.Tech (Direct Entry)
- 60% of its B.Tech seats are filled through the CIT Direct Entry Examination (CITDEE).
- 40% seats filled via JEE Main score.
3. B.Tech (Lateral Entry)
For diploma/B.Sc. holders – admission through CITLET (CIT Lateral Entry Test).
4. B.Des. – Admission through institute-level entrance test focusing on aptitude, creativity, and design skills.
5. Postgraduate (M.Tech / M.Des.)
- M.Tech admission is primarily through GATE.
- M.Des. through CIT’s own entrance process.
6. Ph.D – Entrance test + interview conducted by the institute.
