5. Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)

BUMS is an undergraduate AYUSH course. The total duration of the BUMS degree is 5.5 years of which 1 year is a mandatory internship. The BUMS course curriculum is based on Unani’s methods of medical treatment. To get admission into the BUMS course, candidates need to pass class 12 with at least 50% marks and qualify for the NEET entrance exam. The cutoff of NEET for BUMS courses is the same as BHMS AND BAMS course i.e. 50th percentile for UR candidates and 40th percentile for reserved category students. Like all other AYUSH courses, admission to BUMS courses is also conducted by AACCC.

Admission to BSMS seats is granted based on the NEET-UG score. In addition to qualifying NEET exam, to pursue BSMS candidates also have to qualify for class 12 with at least 50% marks. Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur, RVS Siddha Medical College, Coimbatore, and Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur are some of the popular colleges offering BSMS courses.
