What is the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) admission ways

NEET- National Eligibility and Entrance Test, which was introduced in 2013 by the Medical Council of India (MCI), is designed to apply/implement a single scale/parameter in the medical admission process in India. It ensures that students are selected based on a single nationwide test rather than having different exams at the state level.

Eligibility for NEET:

Eligibility for Indian students :

1. Candidates must have passed 12th grade or an equivalent exam from a recognized board,

2. The qualifying subjects are Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology, and English,

3. Students currently in Class 12 are eligible to apply for NEET,

4. Eligibility marks vary Unreserved – 50%, OBC/SC/ST – 40%, PWD – 40%, based on aggregate marks in PCB subjects,

5. No limit on the maximum number of attempts for NEET 2024.

Eligibility for NRIs and Foreign Students:

1. If you have studied abroad, meet NEET eligibility by passing an exam equivalent / similar to Class 12 in your home country. This should include subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

2. NRIs, OCI, and Foreign Nationals can apply to Medical/Dental Colleges, but they need to follow the rules set by State Governments, Institutions, and the Government of India.

3. Foreigners applying for NEET 2024 must show documents proving their nationality when completing the online application form.

Eligibility for BSc Nursing Admission:

1. Minimum age requirement: Candidates must be 17 years old

2. Educational Qualification: Passed Class 12 with biology, physics, chemistry, and English as compulsory subjects.

3. General category minimum marks: 45% aggregate in the qualifying exam.

4. ST, SC, and OBC minimum marks: 40% aggregate in the qualifying exam.

5. Reservation policy: 3% reservation for PWD (Person with Disability) candidates.

Age Limit for NNET:

There’s no age limit, subject restrictions, or specific school requirement for NEET. The health ministry removed the upper age limit, allowing anyone above 17 to apply for the exam.

Documents need to apply NEET:

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED FOR APPLYING NEET:

1. A working mobile number and email address,

2. Details of your Class 10 and Class 12, including mark sheets, certificates, roll numbers, school address, etc.

3. Accurate spelling of your parents’ names.

4. Aadhaar number (only the last 4 digits).

5. Class 12 Roll number, Election Card (EPIC No.), passport number, ration card number, or any other valid Govt. identity number.

6. Scanned images of your passport-size photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression, Class 10 pass certificate, and a postcard-size photograph.

7. Payment details for online payment – Credit/Debit card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Procedure for applying NEET:

The NEET 2024 application process is online and involves the following steps:

1. Registration:

   – Visit neet.nta.nic.in and click on “Fill Registration Form.”

   – Choose “New Registration” and provide personal details.

   – Enter information like name, date of birth, category, etc.

   – Set a password and complete the security pin.

2. Filling Application Form:

   – Log in using the application number and password.

   – The form is pre-filled with registration details.

   – Provide personal information, academic details, exam center preferences, and other required data.

   – Review and confirm the information.

3. Upload Documents:

   – Upload scanned images of necessary documents.

    – Proceed to the next step.

4. Payment of Fees:

   – Select a payment mode (Debit Card/Credit Card/Net-banking/UPI).

   – Complete the payment process.

Applicants should ensure timely completion within the specified NEET 2024 registration date to avoid losing the opportunity. Once submitted, details cannot be changed.
