A vehicle registration certificate (RC) legally proves that the government has registered a vehicle. It contains details about the vehicle, such as the owner, make, model, and registration number.
Vehicle registration means obtaining a unique identification number to differentiate it from others. Since the RTO regulates all motor vehicles in the country, every vehicle must be registered at the local RTO.
Why is it important?
- Drivers must have it to operate a vehicle on public roads.
- It helps authorities ensure legal vehicle registration and smooth operation.
- Law enforcement authorities use it for identification and regulation.
- Buyers and sellers use it to transfer vehicle ownership and track ownership records.
