The CAN Number known as Citizen Access Number in Tamil Nadu serves as a special ID for residents in the state, enabling them to register their KYC online with a unique number and facilitating easier access to government services. This unique number actively aids in locating and identifying personal information stored in the TN e-Sevai Database.
How To Apply For CAN Number Online?
Step 1: Visit the TN e-Seva portal and select the required certificate you want. It will open as shown in the image below. Press the ‘Click here’ link to start the Registration process for the CAN Number.

Step 2: Complete all required information in the form following the given format.
Step 3: Click on the “Register” button.
Note: Before submitting the form, make sure to create and confirm an OTP (One-Time Password).
After successfully registering for CAN, the system will display your Number.
The applicant can now move forward to apply for the Certificate by clicking on the “Proceed” button
