TNPSC-Combined Engineering Service(CES)

The TNPSC Combined Engineering Service (CES)exams are conducted to select the candidates for various positions Assistant Engineer, Assistant Electrical Inspector, etc.

I.Steps/Stages in Selection Process CES:
  • The TNPSC combined engineering service(CES) consists of two papers and an Interview:
    • In which the candidates have to score in Paper 1, paper 2(part B), and interview(153/510) marks for the reserved category (204/510) marks for the General category
    • Note: the candidate has to score 40% of 150 which is 60 marks in Paper 2(Part A),
      if not the Paper1& Paper(Part B) will not be evaluated

Please note that candidates who obtain a degree in distance education must have already passed SSLC (10th) and then Higher Secondary (+2). If you get a degree in distance education after passing SSLC (10th exam), you will face disqualification

III-Scale of Pay:

The pay scale of TNPSC Combined Engineering Service: Rs.37,700 -1,38,000

Application Fees:

One-time Registration Fee’s. 150/- (it’s valid for 5 years) and
Exam Fee: Rs.200/-

Important Documents needed for the application:
IV. Certificates to be submitted are the following:
  • SSLC/HSC Certificate (Date of Birth Verification),
  • Priority Selection for Tamil Medium (PSTM) Certificate (who have studied in Tamil Medium),
  • Disability Certificate (for PH candidates),
  • No Objection Certificate,
  • Additional Supporting Documents for Reservation,
  • Educational Certificates (as specified in the application),
  • Community CertificateTypewriting/Shorthand Certificates.

NOTE: To select a candidate under the PSTM quota, the authorities require the candidate to have studied in Tamil Medium from SSLC, 12th, and degree.

V. ID and Photographs needed for Combined Engineering Service:
  • Ensure the photo with a signature is uploaded with dimensions of 165×123 pixels and is below 50 kb in jpg format.
  • Upload a scanned copy of the signature with dimensions of 80×125 pixels, keeping it below 20 kb in jpg format.
  • Upload the scanned image of the left thumb imprint in jpg format, keeping it below 50 kb.
  • Applicants must provide identification documents like Aadhar, driver’s license, PAN card, passport, or voter ID during the application process and bring a physical copy of the uploaded ID along with their exam hall ticket on the exam day.
VI. Documents needed for verification after being selected in CES :
  • You must submit your SSLC (10th) certificate, higher secondary (12th) certificate, and graduation certificate as proof of your educational qualifications for age verification.
  • You need to provide a community certificate to specify your community as (SC, ST, OBC, & others).
  • Present a valid photo ID such as an Aadhar card, voter ID, passport, or driver’s license.
  • Attach recent colour passport-size photographs as instructed.
  • Provide a payment receipt as proof of your application fee payment.
  • Complete a self-declaration form stating that you have no criminal history or disciplinary actions.
  • Submit any other supporting documents mentioned in the official notice, such as experience certificates if required.
  • Include two copies of a conduct certificate with your submission.
