Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB)

TN TRB is responsible for organizing exams to hire qualified teachers for different lecturer positions in government colleges and institutions in Tamil Nadu, TN TRB is also responsible for conducting the Teachers Eligibility Test(TET) in Tamil Nadu.

Committee members of TN TRB :
  • Chairman: Head of the TN TRB, responsible for overall selections.
  • Members: Committee members contributing to decision-making.
  • Secretary: Administrative head overseeing day-to-day operations.
  • Board of Directors: Officials making policy decisions and managing exams.
  • Subject Matter Experts: Professionals assisting in exam creation.
  • Administrative and Support Staff: Managing administrative tasks and logistics.
Roles of TN TRB:
  • Administering examinations and selection procedures for a range of teaching and educational roles in Tamil Nadu.
  • Formulating and executing recruitment guidelines and processes to guarantee equity and transparency during selection.
  • Managing a repository of qualified candidates for various teaching positions.
  • Providing recommendations to the government concerning teacher recruitment and education policy matters,
Selection Process of TN TRB :

The TN TRB PG Assistant selection process involves two stages:

  • To secure the PG Assistant position, candidates must pass both the Computer-based Test and Certificate Verification stages.
  • The TN TRB PG Assistant Computer-based Test covers topics such as Education Methodology and General Knowledge.
  • According to the 2022 exam pattern, the Computer-based Test is worth 150 marks and has a duration of 3 hours.
  • Candidates must attain a minimum score to meet the requirements:
    • General category candidates must Score a minimum of 75 marks out of 150.     SC/SCA category candidates must Score a minimum of 67.5 marks out of 150.    
    • ST category candidates must Score a minimum of 60 marks out of 150.

The scale of pay under the TNTRB post :

Application Fee:

The examination fee amounts to Rs 600 and for SC/SCA/ST and differently-abled candidates, it is Rs 300.

Documents need to be submitted:
  1. A scanned colour photograph of the candidate.
  2. Scanned signature of the candidate.
  3. Educational certificates and mark sheets for 10th, 12th, graduation, or other relevant qualifications.
  4. Government-issued identification document (e.g., Aadhar card, voter’s ID, driver’s license).
  5. Caste or community reservation certificate (if applicable).
  6. Residency certificate (if applicable).
  7. Disability certificate (if applicable) for Persons with Disabilities.
