Scheme for Railway Protection Force: The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India unveiled the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) for the
Railway Protection Force (RPF) during his national address from the iconic Red Fort on August 15th, 2005.
The scheme officially began for the RPF in the academic year 2008-09, aiming to foster greater pursuit of technical and professional education
among the dependent children of both current and former RPF/RPSF personnel, as well as widows below the rank of Gazetted officer.
Benefits For the Scholarship:
1. Here is the structure of the scholarship amount:
(i) Male students will receive ₹2500/- per month.
(ii) Female students will receive ₹3000/- per month.
2. Each applicant selected under the new category will receive a personalized letter from the Hon’ble Prime Minister, communicated in the
suitable language.
3. The duration of the scholarship spans from two to five years, depending on the length of the course undertaken.
Note: Scholarship disbursement is subject to approval by the DG/RPF, based on merit rankings each year.
Eligibility for the Scheme for Railway Protection Force::
- The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme is accessible to dependent children of current and former RPF/RPSF personnel, as well as widows
below the rank of Gazetted officer. - Eligibility requires regular admission and a minimum of 60% in the Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ), encompassing 12th Std., Diploma, or
Graduation. - Each family can nominate a maximum of two wards, with verification necessary from both beneficiaries and the relevant zonal Railways/RPSF.
- Only institutions and universities adhering to AISHE regulations are eligible for participation in the scheme.
- Students enrolled in distance learning programs or studying abroad are ineligible.
- Beneficiaries can avail the PMSS for only one course.
Application Process For the Scholarship:
- Begin the application process by accessing the Scheme for Railway Protection Force website and completing the online submission of the Application form
- Navigate to the “Central Schemes” section on the home page and select “Ministry of Railway” to apply for the scheme.
- If you’re a new user, click on the ‘Apply’ Button and proceed to register by filling out the Registration Form with accurate details.
- Ensure all sections of the Registration Form are completed with the corresponding information as per the provided titles/labels.
- Upon successful registration, you’ll receive a unique “Student Registration ID” which will be used for login purposes.
- Log in to your account using the provided “Student Registration ID” and access the Application screen by clicking on the “Application Form” Icon.
- Complete the application form diligently and finalize the submission by clicking the “Final Submission” button.
- Following the successful submission of the application and required documents, a system-generated registration number will be issued to you for future reference.
