Agriculture Extension and Horticulture Service TNAES & TNHS

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducts Tamil Nadu Agricultural Extension Service and Tamil Nadu Horticultural Service Exams (TNAES & TNHS) to select individuals for Agricultural Officer (Extension), Assistant Director of Agriculture (Extension) and Horticultural Officer posts.

I. Steps/Stages in the Selection Process :

The TNPSC Tamil Nadu Agricultural Extension Service and Tamil Nadu Horticultural Service consist of two papers and an Interview.

  • In which the candidates have to score in Paper 1, paper 2(part B), and interview(153/510) marks for the reserved category (204/510) marks for the General category
  • Note: The candidate has to score 40% of 150, that is 60 marks in Paper 2(Part A) if not the Paper 1 &
    Paper 2 (Part B) will not be evaluated.

Please note that candidates who obtain a degree in distance education must have already passed SSLC (10th) and then Higher Secondary (+2). If you get a degree in distance education after passing SSLC (10th exam), you will face disqualification.

III. Scale of Pay:

The pay scale for the TNAES&TNHS position is as follows:
Rs.37,700  to Rs. 2,05,700.

Application Fees of TNAES & TNHS:

One-time Registration Fee: Rs.150/- (it is valid for 5 years) and
Written Exam Fee: Rs.200/-.

Important Documents needed for the application:
 IV. The following certificates are to be submitted.
  • SSLC/HSC Certificate (Date of Birth Verification),
  • Priority Selection for Tamil Medium (PSTM) Certificate (who studied entire education Tamil medium),
  • Disability Certificate (for physically handicapped candidates),
  • No Objection Certificate,
  • Additional Supporting Documents for Reservation,
  • Educational Certificates (as specified in the application),
  • Community Certificate,
  • Typewriting/Shorthand Certificates.
V. ID and Photographs needed :
  • To upload a photo with a signature, ensure it has dimensions of 165×123 pixels, is in jpg format, and is below 50 kb.
  • Upload a scanned copy of the signature with dimensions of 80×125 pixels, keeping it below 20 kb in jpg format.
  • Upload the scanned image of the left thumb imprint in jpg format, keeping it below 50 kb.
  • Applicants must provide identification documents like Aadhar, driver’s license, PAN card, passport, or voter ID during the application process and bring a physical copy of the uploaded ID along with their exam hall ticket on the exam day
VI. After being selected in TNAES & TNHS, you will need to provide the necessary documents for verification.
  • Educational Qualification Certificates: Your SSLC (10th) certificate, your higher secondary (12th) certificate, and your graduation certificate for Age proof.
  • Community Certificate: To specify your community as (SC, ST, OBC, & others).
  • Nativity Certificate (if necessary): If you claim to be a Tamil Nadu resident, submit a nativity certificate.
  • Differently Abled Certificate (For physically handicapped candidates): If you have a disability, include a certificate to ensure it.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC): If you have a current job, get an NOC from your employer.
  • Photo ID Proof: Show a valid photo ID like an Aadhar card, voter ID, passport, or driver’s license.
  • Passport-size Photographs: Attach recent photos (colour) as instructed.
  • Payment Receipt: As proof of application fee payment.
  • Self-Declaration Form: Complete a form saying you don’t have any criminal history and disciplinary actions.
  • The official notice mentions other supporting documents, such as experience certificates if needed.
  • Submit two copies of the conduct certificate.
