Fellowship in Science Humanities and Social Science: The Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) program offered by the University Grants Commission (UGC) is accessible to individuals who meet the eligibility criteria for both the National Eligibility Test-Junior Research Fellowship (NET-JRF) administered by the UGC and the UGC-CSIR joint test. Benefits Of this Fellowship:
- During the initial two years, the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) grants Rs. 25,000/- per month, which then increases to Rs. 28,000/- per month for the subsequent tenure as Senior Research Fellowship (SRF).
- Contingency A, designated for Humanities & Social Sciences, allocates Rs. 10,000/- per annum for the first two years and Rs. 20,500/- per annum thereafter.
- Contingency B, tailored for Science, allots Rs. 12,000/- per annum for the initial two years and Rs. 25,000/- per annum for the succeeding tenure.
- Candidates with physical disabilities or blindness receive an escort/reader assistance allowance of Rs. 2,000/- per month.
Eligibility for the Fellowship:
- Eligibility is extended to applicants who have successfully passed either the NET-JRF or the UGC-CSIR joint test.
- However, it is mandatory that registration for the M.Phil/Ph.D. program is finalized within the specified two-year period.
- This timeframe begins from the date of result declaration, issuance of award letter, or initiation of fellowship, ensuring timely progression into the academic program.

Qualified candidates must submit their applications in response to advertisements released by universities, institutions, or colleges that hold recognition under the following categories Fellowship in Science Humanities:
(i) Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.
(ii) Grant-in-aid Deemed Universities under Section 3.
(iii) Universities or institutions financially supported by either the State or Central Government.
