Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students – Puducherry

The Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students in Puducherry for the academic year, offered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, is an opportunity for students in the OBC category to pursue post-matric education. Selected students will receive a maintenance allowance and other benefits.

Eligibility:-

To qualify for the scholarship, the applicant should:

– Be a member of the OBC community.

– Hold permanent residency in Puducherry.

– Be enrolled in post-matriculation or post-secondary education.

– Have a yearly family income that does not exceed INR 1,50,000 from all income sources.

NOTE:

– Postgraduate students in Medicine are eligible if they are prohibited from practicing during their course.

– Students enrolled in correspondence courses, including distance and continuous education, are also considered eligible for the scholarship.

Note: The Commercial Pilot License Course (CPL) is part of Group ‘I’, with ten annual awards of INR 10 each. Selection for these awards will be managed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and interested Scheduled Tribe (ST) students can apply through an advertised application process.

Additional Benefits of Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students – Puducherry:

The scholarship program provides various allowances and benefits for eligible students.

a) Reader Allowance:

   – INR 240 per month for Group 1 and Group 2.

   – Rs. 200 per month for Group 3.

   – INR 160 per month for Group 4.

b) Transport Allowance:

   – INR 160 per month for disabled students not residing in hostels.

c) Escort Allowance:

   – Rs. 160 per month for severely handicapped day scholar students with low extremity disability.

d) Special Pay:

– INR 160 per month.

e) Extra Coaching Allowance:

   – INR 240 per month for mentally retarded and mentally ill students.

Additional benefits include:

Study Tour
  – Funding up to a maximum of INR 16,000 for students in professional and technical courses.

Thesis Typing/Printing Charges 
– Support up to a maximum of INR 1,600 for research scholars, subject to the recommendation of the Head of the Institution.

Book Allowance for Correspondence/Distance Education Courses

  – Annual allowance of INR 1,200 for essential/prescribed books, coupled with the reimbursement of course fees.

It’s important to note that students in the OBC category covered by the scheme may also be eligible for additional benefits from other schemes not encompassed within this program. Additionally, disability certification, as defined by the relevant Act, must be provided by a competent medical authority of the State Government/UT administration.

To apply for the scholarship, follow these steps:

Log in to https://www.buddy4study.com/scholarships.

1. Click on the ‘Apply Now’ link.

2. Navigate to ‘Applicant Corner’ and select ‘New Registration.’

3. Click on ‘Click here for other Scholarship Schemes hosted on NSP for AY 2022-23.’

4. Read the guidelines, select the undertaking, and click ‘Continue.’

5. Choose the state of domicile, scholarship category, scheme type, gender, and provide personal details.

6. Enter bank details (Bank name, IFSC Code, Account Number).

7. Select Aadhaar or Bank Account Number as identification, then click ‘Register.’

8. Verify mobile number with OTP.

9. Log in using OTP and complete the application form.

10. After submission, note the generated application ID and password for future reference.

Note:

– Ensure accurate form completion; no changes are allowed after submission.

– Submit only one application, as multiple submissions will cancel the form.
