TNPSC Group-IV

The Tamil Nadu Public Services Commission conducts the TNPSC Group-IV exam annually to select candidates for positions such as Junior Assistant, Bill Collector, Typist, Village Administrative Officer (VAO), and Steno-Typist Posts.

I. Steps/Stages in the Selection Process of TNPSC Group-IV:

• The Group IV examination consists of only one written test in which candidates must score a minimum of (90/300) marks. It’s a multiple-choice questions format.
• After passing the written exams, the authorities will call candidates for document verification and a personal interview.

II. Post and Eligibility of Group IV:

Note: Please note that for Candidates who pass a Degree in distance education,  you must have passed SSLC (10th) and then Higher Secondary  (+2). Getting a degree in distance education after a pass in SSLC (10th exam) will result in disqualification.

III. Scale of Pay:

• The pay scale for TNPSC Group IV is as follows:
• VAO, Junior Assistant(Security)(Non-Security), Bill Collector Typist: Rs.19,500 – Rs.71,900/-.
• Steno-Typist: Rs.20,600 – Rs.75,900/-
• Store Keeper in Tamizhagam  Guesthouse, Udhagamandalam: Rs.18,500 – Rs.68,000/-

Application Fees for TNPSC Group-IV:

• Registration fee: Rs 150,
• Examination fee: INR 100.

Important Documents needed for the application:

IV. Certificates to be submitted are the following:

• SSLC/HSC Certificate (Date of Birth Verification),
• Priority Selection for Tamil Medium (PSTM) Certificate(who studied in Tamil Medium),
• Disability Certificate(For PH candidates),
• No Objection Certificate,
• Additional Supporting Documents for Reservation,
• Educational Certificates (as specified in the application),
• I need to obtain a community certificate for the TNPSC Group-IV exam,
• Typewriting/Shorthand Certificate.

Note: To qualify under the PSTM quota, the candidate must have completed their education in Tamil Medium from SSLC, 12th, and degree.

V. ID and Photographs needed for TNPSC Group-IV

• Your Photo with your signature on it should be uploaded – (165×123) pixels in dimension, and below 50 kb in jpg format.
• A scanned copy of the signature should be uploaded – (80×125) pixels in dimension, and below 20 kb in jpg format.
• A scanned image of the left thumb imprint will be uploaded – below 50 kb in jpg format.
• Candidates are required to submit Identification Documents such as Aadhar, driver’s license, PAN card, passport, or voter in the application and they must also carry the hard copy of the ID which is uploaded, along with their hall ticket on the day of the Exam.

VI. Documents needed for verification after being selected in TNPSC Group IV:

• Educational Qualification Certificates: Your SSLC (10th) certificate, your higher secondary (12^th) certificate, and your graduation certificate for Age proof.
• Community Certificate: To specify your community as (SC, ST, OBC, & others).
• Nativity Certificate (if necessary): If you claim to be a Tamil Nadu resident, submit a nativity certificate.
• Differently Abled Certificate (For physically handicapped candidates): If you have a disability, include a certificate to ensure it.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC): If you have a current job, get an NOC from your employer.
• Photo ID Proof: Show a valid photo ID like an Aadhar card, voter ID, passport, or driver’s license.
• Passport-size Photographs: Attach recent photos (colour) as instructed.
• Payment Receipt: As proof of application fee payment.
• Self-Declaration Form: Complete a form saying you don’t have any criminal history and disciplinary actions.
• Other Supporting Documents: These are mentioned in the official notice, like experience certificates (if needed).
• Two copies of the conduct certificate are to be submitted.
